The Oakleigh Carnegie RSL is committed to providing support to past and present Veterans, their partners and families. The support can include payments for essentials such as food, medicines and clothing, arranging financial assistance, provision of mobility, rehabilitation devices or services and assistance that allow people to remain in their own homes, such as gardening, house cleaning or lawn mowing services. Our community now has a growing number of younger Veterans and families and the Oakleigh Carnegie RSL is committed to consultation with our younger Veterans to determine the types of support and activities that will benefit them.
The Sub Branch is pleased to have Gary Ogden as Welfare Officer and he can be contacted by calling 0478 760 058. Please leave a message if Gary is not able to speak to you immediately.. You can also email welfare@oakleighcarnegiersl.com.au and briefly outline the support requested and it is requested that a contact phone number is provided so Gary can call back.
Funds to provide support are raised through the annual ANZAC Appeal and Poppy Appeal, which are conducted in accordance with Victorian State Legislation/Patriotic Fund. Funds raised through the Patriotic funds are only used for the purpose of providing welfare support to past and present Veterans, their partners and families in accordance with The Act. The sale of ANZAC badges and Poppies is conducted in April and November each year by our club volunteers and we welcome help with these appeals.
Veterans, their partners, and their families can access many areas of support, and we encourage you to visit our ‘Useful Links’ page for further information.
